When your braces come off you want your teeth to look their very best! So start today and become your smile’s best friend!
You should use the toothbrush and toothpaste recommended by Dr Tselepis and use them regularly! Brush after every meal – especially if you have eaten anything sweet or sticky. If you are unable to brush straight away, be sure to rinse with water until you can brush. We recommend that you carry a special travel toothbrush when you are away from home.
It is essential that you vigorously brush your teeth and Braces until they are spotlessly clean four times a day for at least 3 minutes each time.
But how do I brush with Braces?
Brushing with Braces can at first be a little tricky; however, Dr Tselepis and his caring team will work with you and show you how to do it. They will answer any questions you have about brushing and caring for your mouth with Braces.
When you are brushing you will need to remove all trapped food and plaque from all surfaces of your teeth – including the fronts, backs, tops and underwires. Pay close attention to the gumline as plaque left there can make your gums sore and swollen. After brushing you should rinse thoroughly. Make sure you swish the water all around your mouth and teeth.
This may sound frustrating to maintain this level of brushing but remember your teeth are important and you want to have them for the rest of your life.
